Riesling

The meager,
stony soils of the Franzhauser vineyard, the Abbey of Klosterneuburg’s oldest
and steepest vineyard, is ideal for the growth of this dry Riesling. The distinct aroma of ripe apricots is
supported by full-bodied mineral flavors and pleasingly structured acidity.
Grüner Veltiner
Hengsberg – Klosterneuburg – 2008
The Hengberg
vineyard in the Danube
Valley adjacent to the
Abbey of Klosterneuburg provides the perfect microclimate for the growth of Grüner Veltiner. The full-bodied, single-vineyard Grüner Veltiner
provides aromas of concentrated fruit and spice with a long, elegant finish.
Weissburgunder Jungherrn – Vienna
– 2008
The weathered
limestone soil of the Jungherrn vineyard, under production by the Abbey of
Klosterneuburg since the 13th century, provides optimal growing
conditions for Weissburgunder (pinot blanc).
This single vineyard Weissburgunder has aromas of ripe apples and
tropical fruit with well-balanced acidity.
Escorial – Thermenregion - 2006
Escorial is
named in honor of the imperial residence at the Abbey of Klosterneuburg. Aromas of black currants and vanilla accent
the wine’s impressive structure and complex finish. (St.
Laurent 70%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20% and Merlot 10%.)
Chorus –
Thermenregion – 2006
Chorus is an
exceptional wine characterized by a marked complexity and harmony. Deep ruby in color, concentrated berry fruit
on the palate and an elegant long lasting finish. (Cabernet Sauvignon 50%,
Merlot 30%, Cabernet Franc 10% and St.
Laurent 10%.)
St. Laurent
Barrique – Thermenregion – 2006
The
Stiftsbreite vineyard in Tattendorf is the largest vineyard in Austria dedicated to the St. Laurent grape, where sun-warmed gravelly
soil promotes perfect ripening. Careful
selection and 18 months aging in small French oak casks produces a wine with
charming vanilla notes, a bouquet of wild berries and cherries and outstanding
aging potential.

Ausstich – Thermenregion – 2006
The
Stiftsbreite vineyard in Tattendorf is the largest vineyard in Austria dedicated to the St. Laurent grape, where sun-warmed gravelly
soil promotes perfect ripening. This St. Laurent Ausstich, aged in large wooden casks for 16
months, produces and excellent, deep ruby-colored wine with hints of
gingerbread and cherry.
Rosé – Thermenregion – 2008
This dry rosé is a light, fruity wine with well-balanced acidity. (70% St. Laurent, 30% Zweigelt.)
